Among the 18 Sanskrit universities of the country, Sampurnanand Sanskrit University will be the first university where Dr. BR Ambedkar Chair will be established. Two-year Spanish Diploma and Diploma in Temple Management courses will also be started in the university. Along with this, teachers posted in Sanskrit colleges will also be transferred.
On Monday, in the meeting of the Vidya Parishad held under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Bihari Lal Sharma, the proposals presented on several important topics were approved unanimously. In the meeting of the Vidya Parishad at Yoga Sadhna Kendra, the Vice Chancellor said that through the Dr. BR Ambedkar Chair, study and research will be conducted on Ambedkar’s contribution to Sanskrit, his personality and inclusive development along with his works on social justice. Sampurnanand Sanskrit University will be the first university in the country where this chair will be established. Approval was given by the Veda Department for mentioning priesthood-rituals in the degree and mark sheet of Shastri/Acharya.
Approval was given to run the course of Hindu Studies under the Department of Comparative Religion Philosophy. In-principle approval was given on the approval of the structure and mark sheet format of Shastri-Acharya courses run by the university as per the SOP issued by the University Grants Commission for the implementation of National Education Policy-2020. Approval was given to run a two-year Spanish language diploma course and a diploma course in temple management.
